YZ TEKUN Consult personnel was appointed as the submitting consulting engineer for marine portion of the street lighting by UEM Builders Sdn Bhd as well as Toll Collection System and Traffic Control & Surveillance System along the expressway by the Jambatan Kedua Sdn Bhd (JKSB).

The proposed Penang Bridge Second Expressway linked the existing Bayan Lepas Expresway at Batu Maung on the Penang Island and across the Straits of Malacca and subsequently to the North-South Expressway (PLUS) on the mainland. The total length of the crossing is approximately 24km with the length of its marine portion (from shore to shore) approximately 16.5km. This portion of the work comprises of the following components : –

• Toll Collection System for two (2) nos. of toll plazas, integrated between JKSB and PLUS
• Traffic Control & Surveillance System with centralised remote monitoring at JKSB Administration Buildings
• Street lighting at marine portion

The scope includes Design, Supervision, Liaison with Approving Authority, Testing and Commissioning, Technical Support during Construction.
